Sun Safety

Golf and other outdoor sports expose you and your skin to the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun. Players Shield was specifically designed to protect players of all ages with a broad spectrum, eco-friendly product that reflects those harmful rays instead of absorbing them like traditional sunscreens.  Broad spectrum sunscreens protect your skin from the sun’s UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays.  This helps prevent sunburn, skin cancer, and premature aging like age spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and over 90% of all skin cancers are associated with sun exposure or indoor tanning. Understanding how sunscreens work is vital to choosing one that is truly effective.

Know the Terms: SPF
Sunscreens are rated by their sun protective factor (SPF) rating. It’s important to know that no sunscreen can filter out 100% of the sun’s UVB rays; the AAD recommends using an SPF 30 or higher.

  • SPF15: filters out 93% of UVB rays
  • SPF30: filters out 97% of UVB rays
  • SPF50: filters out 98% of UVB rays
